Why can't cowards be called COWARDS?

This is off topic, but I have to vent my sorrow and disgust somewhere

Every day, it' just more news of young people being stabbed. It's always been seen as a done thing for teenagers to carry knives, but it was only COWARDS who used them.

There was a time if a guy couldn't use his fist in a fight, he was a wimp. Anyone who had to resort to 'putting the boot in' or scratch or pull hair was seen as a sissy. Why isn't that true today? What changed?

It seems all the reporters who report these stories, and the policians and police who make comments, skirt around the issue, and all seem to think the perpetrators of these crimes do it to gain respect. How can anyone respect someone who can use a knife in unprovoked attacks on innocent victims in order to gain the respect of idiots? THEY ARE COWARDS why can't the people in the media tell them that? Instead of prison sentences of three years or so, wouldn't it be better to put them into some form of boot camp where they have to live as discomfortably as possible to learn to accept they are LOW LIFE? Their victims will never have the opportunity to see their loved ones again, so why should they?

To hear of anyone loosing their lives in such a terrifying way suffering at the hands of these insignificant cowards and thinking of the fear that was going through their minds as they took their last breaths is bad enough, but today I heard of one story that has really affected me. A 17 year old lad tied to a tree and forced to drink petrol then set alight. What on earth can possess anyone to commit such a horrendous act? I fail to see how a term in prison or more likely a mental institution will compensate young Simon Everitt for the pain and fear he had to endure, or his family who have to suffer the in knowledge of their off springs horrific death. Yes we all have to die, but not at such a young age or more importantly. Not at the hands of evil people. LET THE PUNISHMENT FIT THE CRIME and ensure their deaths are met in a similar way as soon as possible.
